Scholarship Giving
“A scholarship is an empowerment, and a statement of belief in a young artist's potential. Scholarships do more than help talented students cover costs - they reinforce the value of the arts and of artists, deeming them worthy of investment and essential to our progress as a society.” - President Damian Woetzel
Support the Juilliard Scholarship Fund
We firmly believe that the school has a great responsibility to support, challenge, and encourage the development of our extraordinary students, who have entrusted their artistic education to us. The removal of economic barriers is crucial to this effort.
With over 90% of our students eligible to receive some measure of financial aid, scholarship funds are critical in enabling Juilliard to meet our students’ needs. The school’s ability to attract and enroll the most gifted applicants, regardless of financial circumstances, is directly dependent on offering a meaningful scholarship package. The amount of support offered is often the most important factor for a student in deciding whether they are able to attend.
Scholarship support makes it possible for the school to continue to nurture the exceptional artists who go on to be the performers, educators, creators, and leaders that move the needle and broaden the stories that are told and heard through the performing arts.
A current Jazz student reflected, “Without this scholarship I would not be able to finish my studies at Juilliard. I have been fortunate to already have performance opportunities, including playing with Wynton Marsalis in Europe. Thanks to my scholarship, I will be the first person in my family to have attended and graduated from a conservatory.”
